Poetry and Art

In Progress:

I developed a love of poetry in 6th grade when my teacher asked me to recite my homework, to write a poem about ‘The Raven’ by Poe, to the class.  I furthered my interest in poetry in high school and college, publishing work in our college newspaper, ‘The Fig.’

This project is a collaboration between myself and a prominent local artist.  We are combining her artwork and my written work into a unique and fun collection.

Working collaboratively is such a gift. I am incredibly proud of being able to have my work represented and supported by this prominent artist. Please email me if you would like to be on the pre-order list: karen@bykareneckert.com

“I watched a hummingbird die today,
as the moon rose high
And your eyes
Like a heart
Beat
through me.”
